Join Tony Wood on this Bank Holiday Monday walk and explore the upper quarries at the National Stone Centre and their links to the High Peak Trail, then across to Jackson Shaft dug by the lead miners of the past which will be lit up by the Wirksworth Mines Research Group who will also have a display of some of the lead miner's equipment and are ready to answer questions. This takes you alongside the Steeple Grange Light Railway who will be running industrial mine and quarry engines that day. There is a charge of £4 per person, please bring the correct change and it is cash only. Pay the guide at the start of the walk.
Walk does cover some rough ground so sturdy trainers or walking boots advised along with long trousers/skirts.
