Join us for an an informal screening of Drowned Village. (2000) 54 mins
Drowned Village is an account of the last few years in the Lanarkshire mining village of Bothwellhaugh prior to the demoloition of the village to create the loch at Strathclyde Park. The documentary includes footage filmed by villager Joe Griffiths and oral history of former residents, and is screened with the kind permission of Joe's son Alistair Griffiths. Photos and maps of the village will also be available to browse.
Refreshments will be served.
All ages are welcome, but children must be accompanined by an adult.
