Garifuna Heritage Month is a time dedicated to honoring the resilience, history, and cultural legacy of the Garifuna people. This celebration uplifts our language, music, food traditions, spirituality, and the intergenerational knowledge that continues to shape our identity.
Throughout the month, ALA Garifuna Women creates spaces for cultural education, community connection, and the empowerment of Garifuna women and families. Our purpose is to preserve our heritage, strengthen community pride, and ensure that Garifuna voices, stories, and contributions are recognized and celebrated in the Pacific Northwest.
