Heritage Ghost Walk
Tuesday, October 28th
Date: Tuesday, October 28 or Thursday, October 30th
Time: We will meet hopefully at 6:45 p.m. for a 7 p.m. departure
Meeting Place: In front of the King George Hotel.
Cost: A fee of $15 will be collected per person with the proceeds being split between Inn from the Cold and the Food Pantry.
Handouts: I will distribute a handout package which will document our route and the particulars of the sites visited. I will conduct a quiz at the end of the walk for the opportunity to win a copy of Mr. Terry Carter’s book on our local ghost legends.
Proposed Itinerary: Following up on what we have done the past eight years, we will visit old houses, inns and public buildings for a heritage / ghost walk covering the Main Street Corridor. We will move from south to north, stopping in front of the site and being briefed on the history of the site, and we will discuss the stories surrounding the site that have passed down from generation to generation.
The whole walk is anticipated to take one hour and fifteen minutes. At the conclusion, we will return to the George on Main Street where we will have a question-and-answer session and expand the discussion on any of your personal experiences. You will have the opportunity to have a coffee or tea (your tab) and relax.
Additional Information: This walk will be leisurely in nature. The walk is child friendly although I would suggest an age restriction of 12 years.
Should your plans change, I would ask that you notify me so that we can accommodate people who are on the waitlist. There will also be a walk on October 29th so if you prefer the Monday walk it can be arranged. We are looking at one more date perhaps, depending on sufficient demand, but at this time there are only two dates available October 25 and 28!
