Heritage Day has become a traditional “kick-off to summer” celebration, one of Kearney’s most anticipated and cherished community events. The 2026 event will be especially meaningful as we proudly themed Heritage Day around America’s 250th Birthday, honoring our nation’s rich history, shared values, and the spirit of community that brings us together.
In previous years, “Heritage Day” has attracted as many as 3,500 people. Some of the activities this year include: Sue Bush Memorial Run/Walk & Kids Lake Loop, Storybook Walk, Family Fishing Day, giant inflatables for the kids, Cabela’s Kayak Test Drives and concession/food vendors. Additionally, we have an outstanding schedule of musical entertainment, and as always, will conclude the night with a spectacular fireworks finale’!
