Be Alive in the Moment
What is Improv?
Improv, or Improvisational Theatre, is the art of creating scenes, characters, and stories on the spot, without a script, without preparation, and without a safety net.
And yet, it is one of the most liberating and accessible art forms in the world!
You don`t need a background in theatre. You don`t need acting experience. You don`t need to be funny. What you need (and what you`ll leave with) are presence and awareness.
Improv has been recognised globally as a tool for building spontaneity, confidence, sharpened listening, authentic self-expression, and a deeper ease with the unexpected. It works because it`s built on a gamified pedagogy. You learn by playing, and you grow by trusting.
What to Expect from this Workshop?
Here and Now is not a typical improv workshop.
Most people associate improv with speed, wit, and jokes. This workshop strips all of that back.
At its core, Here and Now is about one thing: being fully alive in this moment: in your body, with your breath, with the people around you, and with whatever you`re feeling, right now, without apology.
Through guided meditations, body and breath work, and structured scene exercises, we`ll explore how silence can be more powerful than dialogue. How what you don`t say, how you listen, and how you receive someone else, brings out a space where the real magic lives.
This workshop is specifically designed around a central principle: More Presence, Less Performance. Every exercise is designed so that you support each other. There are no wrong choices here. The room will be a safe, playful, and warmly held space from start to finish.
Meet Your Facilitator: Eshaan
Hi! I am a Delhi-based creative performer, theatre practitioner, and improv facilitator with 8+ years of performance experience and 5+ years of teaching and facilitation experience.
I have trained and performed extensively in Delhi NCR with Playground Improv Collective (Levels 1–3, advanced coaching), Nautankibaaz Improv Collective (masterclasses and jams), and internationally in Toronto: performing in 80+ shows with Bad Dog Theatre and completing advanced improv intensives with them, as well as at The Second City.
In 2026, I am set to perform at the Robin Hood International Improv & Comedy Festival (RHIIF) in Nottingham, UK. I have also served as a judge at IIT Kanpur`s Improv Competition and conducted an Improv masterclass for their team, and I`m returning to IIT Kanpur in July to conduct another workshop.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in emotional intelligence, deep listening, and creating a safe space for anyone to take a genuine risk. I don`t just teach improv, I embody it ;)
What People Are Saying
"Working with Eshaan has truly been a gift. He brings a rare blend of playfulness, depth, and presence into the improv space. His facilitation goes far beyond teaching games; he creates an atmosphere where everyone feels safe to take risks, be messy, and uncover surprising parts of themselves."
— Mrinal Gautam
"Eshaan has a natural ability to bring people together through improv. He believes deeply in its power as a life skill, not just a stage skill, and that shows up in the way he teaches and performs."
— Sonali Kathuria
"I`ve never done an improv workshop before, and still, I felt that two days were not long enough. I hope he comes back to Bir soon and conducts a one-month workshop where we have sessions every day. If it happens, I will be there."
— Jonathan Matas
