Herbal Infusions Part 1 –
This hands-on workshop will instruct participants in respectful and time-sensitive harvesting techniques, & safe and delicious herbal infusion recipes. This includes herbal vinegars, alcohol and glycerin tinctures, infused oils and syrups. We will be crafting in the herbal folk tradition. (As opposed to clinical herbalism, which is a different approach.)
The delicious and nutritious herbal preparations we create are both for participants to take home and to serve at the Heartbeat Farm Festa in late August.
Herbal Infusions – Part 2 will take place after these preparations have been allowed to macerate (infuse) for 6 weeks, and then participants will receive instruction on decanting the preparations and learning safe storage and consumption.
- Plant identification and respecful harvesting techniques for medicinal and culinary herbs
- Beginner's herbalism in the folk tradition: Drying, storing, tinctures, vinegars, teas, oils, and syrups
- Gardening and making herbal remedies with an ecological and heart-centered framework, rooted in reciprocity and relationship.
