Folks, we've got some good news and some bad news regarding RCZN's Holiday Party this Sunday at the Harmony House.Bad news first ... Two members of C'est Bon have recently been hit by Covid, so the band won't be able to perform at RCZN's holiday bash. Countless numbers of folks will be woefully bummed about missing the charming ladies of C'est Bon this year … especially bummed are the C'est Bon ladies themselves. Boo hoo hoo!!
The good news! Stepping into the Cajun Christmas dancehall limelight will be the "Henrie Brothers Cajun Band". C’est Bon couldn’t be more thrilled with the Henrie Brothers filling their shoes … though the shoes will likely be a might bit tight … C’est Bon fully endorsing the intention of “The show must go on!!!” or in this case “The Holiday PAAAARTY must go on!!!”
While the Henrie Brothers may be off the radar in the Cajun music world, they are a household name in the music currents of Upstate New York and beyond. The Henries hit stages performing in the 1970's playing Old Time music, remarkably winning First Place in the Old Time Band space at the Fiddlers Convention in Galax, VA in 1976 just two years after beginning their musical journey.
The brothers which comprise the "Henrie Brothers Cajun Band" are Bobby on Fiddle & Guitar, Billy on Accordion & Fiddle, and Doug on upright Bass ... joined by Tyler Wescott on guitar and Jimmy McAvaney on drums.
Of the Henrie Brothers, Bobby Henrie is the most well-known, launching Bobby Henrie and the Goners in 1985, a rockabilly trio exploring all kinds of vintage rock n’ roll, swing and everything in between. The Goners have performed countless events, venues, concerts and festivals, notable is their long run at the Trumansburg GrassRoots Festival since ’92. On guitar Bobby holds a vital role in the band The Djangoners, (formed 2007) a four piece gypsy jazz band, embracing the guitar style of the seminal artist Django Reinhardt.
Bottom line ~ Musically whatever the Henries touch turns to gold. As a Cajun band the Henries will both hit core veins of the genre and take dancers on 2-steps and waltzes they never imagined.

MY MESSAGE TO THE CHARMING C'EST BON LADIES:
Hiya Ladies ~ I was saddened when Betsy messaged me the other day letting me know that a number of you have been hit by that nasty Covid thang. Hoping whoever amongst you have been hit that it is short lived and leaves no traces. Letting you know RCZN has taken the stance, The Show AND Party must go on!!! I'm excited to share that The Henrie Brothers Cajun Band backed by Tyler Wescott and Jimmy Mac will be stealing the Cajun dancehall limelight. Those of you who are in the area and are feeling mighty healthy are welcome to join as honored guests of RCZN
With LUV always ... Bruce
C'EST BON'S MESSAGE IN REPLY from Evelyn Schneider (on bass):
Hi, Bruce,
Thanks for your lovely message and thanks to the fine musicians stepping in for us. I am one of the lucky few… possibly the only one…without the “nasty Covid Thang” having either taken residence or hovering about via exposure…and while I won’t be driving the five hours up, I will be with you in spirit! Such a bummer to miss this gig—much loved by us all—and I, too, am sending my dear band mates love and get-well wishes.
Love and Happy Holiday wishes to you Bruce and the entire RCZN Dance Community!!!
