My name is Monika, and I’ve had the privilege of knowing two incredible individuals, L and R, for over two years. They we're originally my house cleaners, turned friends! They have been residing in Canada without official documentation for eight years after leaving Brazil.
After discovering their hope to apply for humanitarian and compassionate consideration in Canada, I felt compelled to assist them in their journey.
Due to the sensitive nature of their situation, L and R have chosen to remain anonymous but have authorized me to initiate this fundraising campaign on their behalf.
They are currently faced with legal fees amounting to $5,000 plus taxes. Additional government fees are estimated to be around $3,000. At this time, we are seeking to raise funds specifically for the legal expenses, as L and R are optimistic about managing the government fees themselves. I will post the first page of the documentation (see below) pertaining to our legal representation, with sensitive areas redacted for confidentiality reasons.
Each event will feature $2,000 worth of prizes generously donated by:

The prize packs are currently the same for both the January and Febuary draws. I estimate that the Febuary draw value will be closer to $3,000 as I'm still waiting on confirmation from some sponsors / donors.
As I get more sponsors I will add them here! For every person who donates they will also be entered into the draw for the prize packs. For each $5 donated you will get one entry into the draws! We are limited to selling only 100 tickets on Eventbrite so I have made a go fund me for any additional payments / entries. Winner must be located in Toronto and the name will be drawn at Glad Day Bookshop on January 27th and February 24th 2025. You DO NOT have to be in attendance to win! Winner will be contated via email on GoFundMe if the winner is from the GoFundMe donors.
