About this Event
For too long, gun violence has ravaged communities, leaving families shattered and justice stalled. In the aftermath of these senseless killings, we’ve often turned to outside experts police, attorneys, politicians, and analysts; expecting them to solve the murders. But in doing so, we’ve ignored the true experts: the black and brown mothers, fathers and families who’ve lived through these tragedies. These are the people who have lost their children to gun violence, who’ve had to piece their lives back together after the system has failed them again and again. And most tragically, many of these murders remain unsolved.
Help Solve A M**der is a six-part docu-series that digs into these unsolved cases and the tireless advocacy work being done to shine a light on the voices of black and brown families left to fight for justice. These true stories of pain, trauma , displacement and advocacy are also inspiring stories of resilience in the relentless pursuit for accountability in a broken system. These families are not just victims of crime; they are warriors demanding answers, fighting to ensure that their loved ones are not forgotten and that the cycle of violence ends.
Gun violence isn’t just an isolated tragedy; it’s a daily reality in too many communities, especially those torn apart by systemic racism, poverty, and neglect. The roots of this violence are deep: sexism, racism, displacement, and injustice. The system is rigged and killers too often walk free, leaving families with no closure and no peace.
