Holman Grove is currently a scrappy little triangle of grass with some plants, tended by a couple of volunteer neighbors, next to a busy commercial road surrounded by strip malls. With your help we will plant more plants, get rid of invasive species, and spread around some wood chips.
Eventually, by adding art, seating, and even more plants, we can create a public park/fruit grove for passersby to enjoy. If you live in Crown Hill, and like plants, hanging out with neighbors, and manual labor, come on down!
We’ll also have a seed swap! Bring any seeds you want to get rid of! CHCG will give away Albion day neutral strawberry plants in pots, and vetch seed. We’ll provide hot drinks! Come hang out! We’ll be outside, try to keep spread apart a bit. You can wear masks if you want, or try to keep 6 ft apart from people. Feel free to stop by and say hi, if you just want to hang out for a minute, we won’t force you to do unpaid manual labor, we like talking to people too! We want to know people’s thoughts on what we should do at Holman Grove. So far the idea is: more plants, hopefully someday seating and art, and maybe trees...
Bring fat pitchforks, for wood chips, if you have got them. Bring gloves if you’ve got them. CHCG has plenty of gloves to share. and a couple of pitchforks.
