Celebrate the start of Summer Reading with a free all-ages concert by the Roe Family Singers. Immediately following the show, join us outside the library for a free s’mores cookout, courtesy of Cornucopia Natural Market and Deli.Led by wife and husband duo Kim and Quillan Roe, the Roe Family Singers band marries old-time sounds from barn-dances, fiddle pulls, and county fairs with a punk-rock sensibility and delivery. For over 20 years they’ve been mixing their original music with contemporary takes on old-time and traditional tunes into one rolling and rollicking river of fresh yet familiar American music. They’ve won a long list of acclaim and honors, and have shared the stage with Doc Watson, Ralph Stanley, Mike Seeger, Del McCoury, Jesse McReynolds, the Grascals, Jim Kweskin & Geoff Muldaur, Junior Brown, Asleep at the Wheel, and John McEuen & John Carter Cash.
The Roe Family Singers' appearance is made possible by the Galesburg Public Library Foundation through the generosity of its supporters.
