About this Event
To celebrate Dementia Action Week and as part of Hello Hornsby, Hornsby Shire Council's innovative project connecting seniors with our community, we are pleased to invite people with Dementia and their Carers to join us on The Riverboat Postman Tour for a wonderful day out.
This will be an opportunity to meet others with dementia and for carers to connect with other carers in our community. It will also be a chance to enjoy a relaxed day out and be spoiled for a few hours while onboard.
The Riverboat Postman Tour is a 3 hour trip along the Hawkesbury River, starting and ending in Brooklyn. It runs from 10am-1pm and is easily accessible by train with Hawkesbury River Station adjacent to the Wharf.
The event includes a beautiful and relaxing trip along the river while delivering mail and other essential items to the settlements upstream from Brooklyn. There will be plenty of stories shared and fun to be had.
The Riverboat Postman Tour includes morning tea at departure, a Ploughman’s-style lunch at midday and a slice of cake and hot cuppa for dessert. Common dietary requirements can be catered for.
Cost – FREE. Tickets are limited and online bookings are essential.
Gentle Reminder – Tickets are available to people with Dementia and their Carers, who reside in Hornsby Shire. Due to popularity and demand, tickets are not available to those who attended previous trips on The Riverboat Postman as part of Hello Hornsby.
