This presentation will delve into the intersection of art and agriculture within the Creative Europe project "Tilling Roots and Seeds," (2023-2025), led by Quo Artis Foundation, highlighting the transformative potential of integrating farming knowledge with cutting-edge artistic practices to address biodiversity loss and the sustainable food system in Europe.

The discussion will cover the role of artistic residencies in addressing the ecological crisis, promoting sustainable farming, and fostering a deeper connection with nature through creative expression. The session will emphasize the importance of collaborative efforts between artists, scientists, and farmers in imagining and implementing future sustainable scenarios.


About the speaker:

Helena Pérez - Project Coordinator at Quo Artis


Helena Pérez has extensive experience in project coordination, specializing in the promotion, research, and production of contemporary art. She holds a BA in Art History and a Certificate in Arts Management from Birkbeck College, UK, and an MA in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths University, UK.


Throughout her career, she has collaborated with renowned institutions such as Tate Modern, contributing to educational projects, and has worked with contemporary art galleries like Sutton Lane (London), àngels barcelona, and RocioSantaCruz (Barcelona). She has also contributed to the development of not-for-profit arts organizations such as the Kadist Art Foundation in Paris, BAR Project, and Hangar, Centre for Artistic Production & Research in Barcelona.


From 2018 to 2022, Helena taught Recent Art History at Metàfora Studio Arts, further enriching her commitment to contemporary art and education. Since 2023, Helena has been with Quo Artis, where she has focused on exploring the intersection of art and science, further expanding her expertise in innovative and interdisciplinary projects
