Helen McCookerybook viene a La Batisfera!
Helen es una figura de culto en Gran Bretaña, ¡y no es para menos! Además de su trabajo académico como la autora y profesora de punk feminista, Helen realizó un documental con Gina Birch de The Raincoats (“Stories From The She-Punks”), grabó seis sesiones para John Peel en la BBC con sus bandas The Chefs y Helen & The Horns, y es una artista fantástica. Gracias al pequeño milagro de formar parte del sello Tiny Global Productions, ofrecerá una actuación exclusiva en La Batisfera el próximo 17 de abril. No solo interpretará sus canciones ante el público español por primera vez, sino que traerá su arte, que a menudo muestra figuras destacadas de la música, y que estará disponibles a precios razonables. Helen, una de las personas más encantadoras que conocemos, se quedará después del concierto para responder a cualquier pregunta que podáis tener... ¡y de paso, os podréis tomar una copa con ella! Las entradas estarán disponibles en la puerta.
Su exposición en La Batisfera se llama “Dibujos y Canciones” y solo por ver las piezas vale la pena acercarse, pero al ser alguien que ha tocado con leyendas musicales de Young Marble Giants, Massive Attack, Vic Godard de Subway Sect y muchos otros, el concierto es imperdible.

Helen McCookerybook is coming to La Batisfera!
Helen’s a cult personality in Britain, and no wonder! In addition to her academic work as the author and professor of feminist punk, Helen made a documentary with Gina Birch of The Raincoats (“Stories From The She-Punks”), recorded SIX John Peel BBC sessions with her bands The Chefs and Helen & The Horns, AND she’s a fantastic artist. Through the small miracle of being on the Tiny Global Productions label, she’s making an exclusive performance at La Batisfera on April 17! Not only will Helen be playing her amazing songs to a Spanish audience for the first time, some of her excellent artwork - often depicting luminaries of music - will be on display and available for purchase at reasonable prices. One of the loveliest people we know, Helen will hang around after the show and answer any questions you might have . . . have a drink with her while you’re at it! Tickets will be available at the door.
Her exhibition at La Batisfera is called “Dibujos y Canciones” and it’s well-worth seeing her art alone, but as someone who’s played with musical legends from Young Marble Giants, Massive Attack, Vic Godard of Subway Sect and many others, you shouldn’t miss it!
