About this Event
Many of us are carrying a sense of heaviness right now — grief for what’s happening in the world, exhaustion, feeling of being stuck, numb, or overwhelmed. These are human responses to living in tender and uncertain times.
Held in the Dark is a somatic movement gathering inviting you to meet this season — and yourself — with gentleness, curiosity, and care.
This gathering offers a nourishing space to slow down, listen inward, and move in ways that feel supportive and true — without performance, pressure, or expectation.
This event is for women, femme, and non-binary identifying folks, and welcomes all bodies, abilities, and movement experience levels. No prior movement or dance experience is needed.
What to Expect
• Guided somatic movement and breath • A slow, grounding movement journey with choice at every step • Space to acknowledge heaviness, grief, or stuckness — without needing to fix it • Time for reflection and gentle community connection • A warm, inclusive, nervous-system-aware environment

Accessibility & Care
We aim to create a space that is supportive and accessible to many bodies and nervous systems.
• All movement is invitational — rest, stillness, and observation are always welcome • Options for seated, floor-based, or standing participation • Chairs, blankets, and space to pause will be available • You are encouraged to move at your own pace and follow what feels right for you

• A journal and pen for reflection • A blanket and/or pillow for coziness and comfort • Comfortable clothing you can move or rest in • Water
