The Story
Heist School Musical is a hilarious, heartwarming adventure about a group of underestimated teens who convince their school to enter a European musical theatre competition… as the perfect cover to steal a priceless masterpiece from a grand Austrian castle. Packed with high-energy songs, clever schemes, and unexpected heart, it’s a story about friendship, daring dreams, and proving that young people can achieve the extraordinary, even when the world seems set up to hold them back.
Audition Information
We're looking for dynamic and energetic performers aged 8 - 25 for our forthcoming production of 'HEIST SCHOOL MUSICAL'.
The audition will be a friendly, workshop style audition, which will include Movement, Voice and Acting.
Please prepare a verse and chorus of a song - this will be performed unaccompanied.
Please choice a song that allows us to hear your natural voice.
Please wear comfortable clothing as you will be expected to take part, freely in physical activity.
We want to create a company where everyone feels valued regardless of their background, identity, or circumstances. Therefore, we actively encourage people with different backgrounds to join us.
Production Information
Production week will run from Saturday 18th July - Thursday 30th July 2026
Working with the OTW team you will create a new musical that will be the first performance in our new building - Oldham Theatre Workshop - The Old Library.
The production week will include a dress and tech rehearsal as well as performances on -
Saturday 16th July - Tuesday 2st July - Final rehersal, Tech and Dres.
Wednesday 22nd July - Thursday 30th July 2026 - Performaces
Saturday 25th July - Matinee and Evening Performance.
9 performances in total.
Please note; if you are NOT available for the entirety of the production week, From Saturday 18th July -Thursday 30th July 2026 you will sadly not be able to take part in the production.
If you have a holiday book in the run up to the performance, please speak with the OTW team before booking your audition.
OTW has an ongoing relationship with industry professionals, and we promise to try to invite Agents and Casting Directors to the performances.
Rehearsal Information
Weekly rehearsals will take place at OTW on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00PM - 9:00PM as of Monday 13th April 2026.
Intensive rehearsal week - We will be rehearsing over the May Half term, from Sunday 24th May - Sunday 31st June, Times TBC.
Some weekend rehearsals may take place as we move closer to the performance.
Production Fees:
Should you be successful in gaining a place in the company you will be asked to pay one of the following fees:-
If you live inside Oldham: £144 (or if in receipt of benefit) £77
If you live outside Oldham: £168 (or if in receipt of benefit) £83
