Join leaders, practitioners, and community partners for a powerful convening focused on preserving homeownership and strengthening generational wealth in Detroit.
This showcase will celebrate a year of collaboration across the Heirs Property Steering Committee and The Detroit Heirs’ Property Program, led by Detroit Future City, LISC Detroit and supported by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis. During this time partners will share practical tools, key findings, and actionable next steps to preserve and strengthen homeownership in Detroit.
The event will be held on Tuesday, June 16 from 9:30 AM - 11:30 PM at Wayne State University Industry Innovation Center (I2C) 461 Burroughs St., Detroit, MI 48202
Systems -Level and Program Level Interventions
Join Detroit Future City (DFC), LISC Detroit, and the Detroit Heirs Property Steering Committee for an engaging session that brings together strategy, on-the-ground insight, and collaborative action. This session will highlight the committee’s work and share real-world lessons from Detroit including successes, persistent barriers, and emerging opportunities to prevent and mitigate heirs’ property challenges.
From a systems perspective, DFC will introduce the Detroit Heirs Property Framework, outlining a coordinated strategy to address this critical issue. On the programmatic side, LISC Detroit will map the broader ecosystem, spotlight key partners, and provide insight into the current implementation landscape. The session will also include interactive engagement opportunities designed to strengthen partner alignment and spark collective solutions.
