Empowering hapu mama with matauranga Maori

Hei Tiki Pūmau is a Kaupapa Māori Antenatal Wānanga that supports hapū māmā and their whānau by sharing essential knowledge and tools for a positive and empowering birthing journey.

Over our 2 day wānanga we will explore each stage of pregnancy, blending traditional Māori birthing practices with wellness and medical care.

Kai will be provided on both days.

Explore mātauranga on Māori birth traditions.

• Create an Ipu Whenua and explore the tradition of whenua ki te whenua
• Gain first-hand mātauranga in traditional Māori birthing practices
• Learn how to extract muka from Harakeke to tie the umbilical cord.
• Create their own Panipani balm using traditional Māori ingredients.
