About this Event
Hedge Songs Poetry Launch
Hedge Songs is published by New City and continues Campton’s distinctive blend of wit, reflection and spiritual curiosity. Building on the success of his first collection, Doodlings & Doggerel, this new volume deepens his exploration of everyday encounters, faith, nature and the quiet moments that shape a life.
This collection of poems was largely written during the pandemic lockdown, hence its title, Hedge Songs, which refers to a feature much noted during the COVID-19 lockdown: a greater awareness of birdsong, with reduced road noise and air traffic no longer drowning it out. Some of the poems included here have been previously posted in some form on David’s blog ‘Virtual Methodist’.
It will be an “in conversation” event with Will Leitch, former BBC Radio Ulster presenter, and readings by David's fellow 4 Corners Wonderful Wanderers Jim Deeds and Dr Mylie Brennan.
There will also be an opportunity to hear about the BBC Parent Support Programme that proceeds from this book are going to support.
Entry free with suggested purchase of the book.
