Demystify the Hebrew alphabet as you learn the letters and vowels and how to combine them to “crack the code.” This course introduces reading Hebrew in an enjoyable yet focused atmosphere. Emphasis is placed on reading from the prayer book and words from Jewish cultural life. This course, taught by certified language instructor Keren Yairi, is for those with little to no prior Hebrew reading ability.
Due to the cumulative nature of literacy learning, students should plan to attend class regularly and spend 20 minutes daily on home practice.
Keren Yairi is a certified language instructor who has taught Hebrew as well as English literacy and English as Second/Other Language. She has also served as a consultant on education, language, and literacy projects.
Participants are responsible for purchasing the textbook outside of the cost of the class.
