About this Event

This class meets weekly on Tuesdays, March 11 – June 3 at 6:30 pm, class endss at 8:30 pm. There will not be a class on April 15. Space is limited.

Each session is 2 hours long. *Class will meet in-person on March 11 and June 3, the rest of the class will be virtual*

Demystify the Hebrew alphabet as you learn the letters and vowels and how to combine them to “crack the code.” This course introduces reading Hebrew in an enjoyable yet focused atmosphere. Emphasis is placed on reading from the prayer book and words from Jewish cultural life. This course, taught by certified language instructor Keren Yairi, is for those with little to no prior Hebrew reading ability.

Due to the cumulative nature of literacy learning, students should plan to attend class regularly and spend 20 minutes daily on home practice.

Keren Yairi is a certified language instructor who has taught Hebrew as well as English literacy and English as Second/Other Language. She has also served as a consultant on education, language, and literacy projects.

The first 13 participants will have the textbook included in the cost of the ticket.

The other participants are responsible for purchasing the textbook

"Aleph Isn't Tough" by Linda Motzkin.

Registration for this series closes on March 10 at 9:00 am.
