Dark Victory Armory is hosting Heavy Craft Day, a full-day working symposium focused on building, repairing, and improving armor and leather gear for SCA combat and related activities.While the day centers on armor for armored combat, this is not limited to heavy only. Anyone working on armor, leather construction, or related protective gear is welcome.
This is a hands-on shop day. Bring your damaged pieces, half-finished projects, or new concepts and spend the day creating alongside other makers.

To make this day productive, please post in this group before the event with what you would like to work on.
Examples:
Rebuilding a gorget
Designing or fitting shoulders or elbows
Starting a brigandine or leather harness
Solving fit or mobility problems
Beginning your first armor or leather project
Sharing your goals early lets us:
Review your ideas ahead of time
Suggest design approaches
Flag tools, materials, or patterns you may need
Coordinate help so you can make real progress when you arrive
Photos, sketches, or measurements are encouraged.
The more detail you provide beforehand, the more focused and useful Heavy Craft Day will be for everyone.
Temperature: The carriage barn we'll use is not kept at room temps. but you can expect it to be about 50 degrees F or warmer.
