I’ve known Ken Whiteley as a local icon and neighbour for years—I still have fond memories of his porch performances keeping the neighborhood’s spirits up during the pandemic. As a seven-time Juno nominee and a cornerstone of the Canadian roots scene, Ken brings a lifetime of mastery in blues, gospel and folk to the stage. He’s joined by his long-time collaborator, Ciceal Levy, a vocalist whose rich alto and spiritual depth often draw comparisons to Mavis Staples.
Together, they represent a staggering breadth of musical history. Ken has produced over 140 albums and worked with legends like Pete Seeger, while Ciceal has lent her soulful voice to projects with everyone from Celine Dion to Kirk Franklin. From their recent collaboration on Ken’s album Keep Going to their shared work leading harmony workshops, their musical chemistry is rooted in a deep, professional passion that is truly captivating to witness.
