HEAT WAVE Summer Running Program
Heat Wave is a 8 week 5K friendly running program designed to help new and experienced runners to gradually build up their endurance over the course of the program. The program consists of weekly group runs that take place every Monday starting June 17th.
Meetings will be held at Lake Run Club Office (305 S Linden St. Normal, IL) on Mondays @ 5:30pm.. With the goal of preparing participants to run in the Evergreen Lake 5K on August 10th. The race starts and finishes at the North boat launch and beach area at Comlara.
During the program, participants will receive guidance and support from experienced running coaches and fellow runners. The program is designed to gradually increase the distance and intensity of the weekly runs to help participants build up their endurance and develop good running habits.
The program culminates in the Evergreen Lake 5K, which provides participants with the opportunity to put their training into practice and achieve their running goals. Whether you are looking to complete your first 5K, improve your running technique, or simply enjoy the camaraderie of running with others, Heat Wave is a great program to get started with.
All abilities are welcome! Strollers are allowed in any and all groups!
