About this Event
What Happens in This Workshop?
1️⃣ Collage 2️⃣ Scan 3️⃣ Print 4️⃣ Iron
In this workshop, Collage Artist Julia Walck will teach you everything you need to know about collage! Julia will give a brief how-to collage tutorial, then you get to cut and paste using her personal stash of vintage magazines. This is a small class size, so if you have questions as you go, she's around for one-on-one help.
Once you’ve made your collage, we’ll scan it in and print it out on heat transfer paper to iron onto the item of clothing you brought. You’ll take home your original collage, and an up-cycled item of clothing!
If you have a rough idea for a collage already, great! If not, no worries. PLAY is the best part of collage and the unknown is your friend. An idea will come to you along the way and it will all fall into place!

What Type of Clothing Should I Bring?
BYO thrifted or old shirt to up-cycle! It should either be white, or a light color for the transfer paper to work. Here are a few examples below of how transfers look on various light-colored clothing. The green example is probably the darkest you would want to go, as the color of the shirt slightly shows through on the transfer. (Which is why a white/light t-shirt would work the best!)
