About this Event

This course is a government-funded course, designed by FairHeat, sponsored by CIBSE.

Course 4: Heat Network Energy Strategies – How to Get It Right

Course Description

This course explores the fundamentals of developing robust and achievable heat network energy strategies. Participants will gain an understanding of recent regulatory changes that influence strategy development and the key considerations that must be addressed early in the design process. Topics include selecting the right network type and routing, setting appropriate network temperatures, defining generation strategies, and adopting effective sizing approaches. By the end of the course, attendees will be equipped to make informed decisions that set projects up for long-term success.

This course focuses on the design stage, it teaches operators and developers how to integrate and apply quality assurance practices to avoid common design and implementation errors. The course emphasises the development of Employers Requirements (ERs) that meet specified quality standards, preparing participants to manage projects that adhere to both regulatory requirements and operational efficiency goals.
