I know a lot of you love the Santa Cruz community as much as I do and many of you give back in different ways. Here’s an important ask for all of you, local or not.I was recently talking to a friend about donating blood and learned the City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation is hosting their first blood drive, though other city departments have hosted their own drives.
In researching the current need, I learned there’s currently a severe shortage of blood.
I used to donate blood a lot when I worked over in Santa Clara, my company made it easy as the Red Cross would come and set up in a conference room. I’m proud to say I hit 2 gallons in donations, but am disappointed in myself for not donating in the last few years. That’s going to change and if not before, I’ll be donating 4/16 at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium.
I invite everyone to join me, here’s a link with more info https://www.redcrossblood.org
If you’d like to donate at the Civic, the sponsor code is HEARTSSC. If you prefer to do it sooner or you’re out of the area, you can input your zip code and you’ll find many blood drives near you.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for considering this. ❤️ Together we can make a difference!
Feel free to share this so as many people as possible can join us.
