Everyone has a story inside them. And within every story… there is a song.
Heart of a Song is a one-day song craft workshop with Holly Lerski, where you’ll learn how to write a song from the emotional centre outwards. There’s no need to be able to read music or to play an instrument. Just come as you are.
Through guided exercises, reflective writing and simple, accessible techniques, you’ll be invited to discover your own hummable truth — and begin to shape it into melody and lyrics. No experience is needed, just a willingness to explore.
Inspired by her own journey — where heartbreak led to a life-changing road trip across America with a tiny guitar, and songs began to appear along the way — Holly shares how this process can be understood and accessed. Through presence, momentum, and trusting the first spark, creativity begins to flow.
There’ll be space for writing, experimenting, and finding your voice, with gentle guidance throughout the day.
As the day softens into evening, we’ll gather around the fire to share what’s been created — whether sung, spoken, or simply witnessed — held in a warm and supportive circle.
Leave with a song — or the beginning of one — and a way to return to it.
All materials are included. You’re welcome to bring your own instrument with you, if you have one.

You’ll spend the day in our beautiful Stargazer bell tent, tucked away in rural north Norfolk, surrounded by meadow, woodland, magpies and hares. There’ll be a break during the day for lunch (please bring your own) and you'll need to bring your own chair to sit on. We have plenty of parking and toilets. Hot and cold drinks are available all day.
