About this Event
Welcome to Heart Month Community CPR Day at the Vanderburgh County Fire Dept!
Looking for a fun post-Valentine's Day activity? What could be more romantic than learning to save a life during the American Heart Association's Heart Month!
Come join us for a FREE learning session as we cover the most important aspects of CPR and other cardiac arrest-related emergencies. This in-person event is open to individuals of all ages who want to learn and practice lifesaving skills.
What to Expect:
We'll have 1-hr sessions led by experienced providers starting at the top of each hour (3pm & 4pm) covering the following topics:
- Hands-only CPR training
- How to use an AED
- Rescue Breathing with a pocket mask
- Overview of public-access Narcan
- Q&A with your local Firefighter/EMTs & Paramedics
Why Attend:
Bystander CPR can double or even triple cardiac arrest survival rates, and the #1 reason holding people back from helping is that they don't feel confident in performing the skill. Attending our Community CPR Day can help you make a difference in an emergency by gaining the knowledge and confidence to help save a life!
