About this Event

Join our Community Chefs as they teach healthy heart recipes specifically for people living with/trying to prevent heart disease & their wider family/carer networks. These cookery workshops are designed specifically for children aged 9-14 and a parent/carer from their family, who must attend & supervise throughout.

This Heart Health Programme includes 2 cookery workshops at the Bounceback Food Community Kitchen in Manchester. Ticketholders will be able to join us on the following 2 workshops:

  • Wednesday 18th February, 10:00am-12:00pm
  • Thursday 19th February, 10:00am-12:00pm

These workshops have been kindly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.

Who are we?

Bounceback Food CIC is a social enterprise fighting food poverty on multiple fronts. Since 2014 our Community Cookery School teams have been teaching people how to cook, running food bank drives at market events, helping people get jobs in the food sector and coordinating community meal drives that provide emergency meals for our beneficiaries.

Since 2014 we have taught 10,000+ people how to cook, including stroke survivors, young carers, food bank beneficiaries and elderly people living in sheltered accommodation. We have also secured 25,000+ donations to food banks and generated over 250,000 meals for people in need via our catering, community meal drives and cookery workshops.

FAQs

What will we be cooking?

A different heart healthy recipe with fresh ingredients each workshop! We need to factor in everyone's dietary requirments in the group before deciding on the exact dish.

Do I need to bring anything?

No - we provide all the ingredients & cooking equipment that you'll need to participate in the workshop.

How will you cater for my dietary requirements?

Please list any dietary requirements or allergies that you/members of your family have when you sign up so that we can plan recipes accordingly. We will ask you to confirm these again on the day to ensure that the recipes have been safely adapted to meet your requirements.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

If you have any further questions, please email [email protected].
