About this Event

July Is Online Only

We are sorry to announce that July Open Forum will be online only. We are currelntly looking into how we run our Forum. We hope you can still join us online in July.
Topic: Mental Health and Keeping Active
This month we are looking at how being active can positively impact mental health. We will be joined by Active Minds and Studio Upstairs to tell us about different groups and activities you can join.
Active Minds aims to improve peoples physical and mental health. They help people to make healthy lifestyle changes. Active Minds runs a range of different groups including Yoga, Table Tennis, Zumba, Badminton and a walking group. All of their groups are FREE to attend, you don’t have to pre-book once you’re registered and there’s no pressure to attend every week.
Studio Upstairs run art studios and creative community hubs for people with mental health difficulties. They aim to improve your well-being and health. They will recharge your creativity and help you achieve your own goals. They will speak to us about their different projects including The Create Belong Thrive project. The Create Belong Thrive project is for people who are interested in using art and creativity for positive mental health. The group is for Croydon Central West residents aged 55+ and is free.
Agenda to be confirmed
The Hear Us Mental Health Open Forum is designed primarily for mental health service users to come together and discuss services that affect them. However, we welcome carers, staff and anyone interested in mental health to join us.
This forum gives us all a chance to meet, ask questions and debate with commissioners and service providers. We invite statutory services like Croydon Council and SLaM (South London and Maudsley NHS Trust) as well as voluntary services such as Mind, Imagine, Status Employment, APCMH to name but a few.
