About Tricia:
Tricia Halloran has been curating, DJing and obsessing over indie pop and rock since 1992, when she began hosting Brave New World on KCRW. She now shares her discoveries via her substack newsletter Brave New Brief, find her at bravenewworldtricia.substack.com.
About the project:
Twenty years ago, Stephen Canfield quit music to afford insurance after being diagnosed with a chronic disease. Two decades later, he returned to the studio under a name he hopes to reclaim: Healthcare.
Bringing together influences from Emmylou Harris and Cat Stevens to Brian Eno, Boards of Canada, Suzanne Ciani, and Wilco, the music is a listenable mix of classic Americana and ambient texture—made with friends who have recorded and toured with the likes of Kacey Musgraves, H.E.R., Daniel Caesar, Natalie Hemby, and more.
