About this Event
We are pleased to invite you to an upcoming session hosted by the Health Informatics Centre (HIC), University of Dundee, featuring an interactive demonstration from City as Lab.
City as Lab is an interdisciplinary unit focused on exploring how data, design, and digital technologies can help us better understand and shape the places we live in. HIC have invited City as Lab to Dundee, where as part of their visit, they will be showcasing their Projection Augmented Relief Model (PARM), developed at the University of Nottingham.
PARM is an innovative platform that projects data onto a physical 3D model of a place, enabling users to visualise complex datasets in a highly engaging and accessible way. By combining tangible models with dynamic data visualisation, PARM supports deeper insight and discussion across research, policy, community engagement, and business contexts.
At HIC, we specialise in the secure use of large-scale health and population data to support research that improves health and wellbeing. Our work spans data linkage, advanced analytics, and collaborative projects across academia, healthcare, and industry. We are particularly interested in exploring how novel visualisation approaches like PARM could enhance how we communicate insights, engage stakeholders, and support decision-making.
This session offers a valuable opportunity to:
- Experience the PARM model in action
- Explore potential interdisciplinary applications
- Discuss opportunities for collaboration across the University
We warmly encourage colleagues from all disciplines with an interest in data, visualisation, place-based research, or public engagement to attend.
Please feel free to share this invitation with others who may be interested.
If you would like to attend, please register sign up via EventBrite, or RSVP to [email protected] if you have any queries.
We look forward to seeing you there.
