Dr Lewis, Dr Jacques and Dr Simpson will be discussing two sister-projects in three parts: a section on the federated methods these projects used and the results from the two projects.

Dr Simpson will be presenting part 1: "Exploring variation in ED attendances and acute hospital admissions for Ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions". This examines patient demographics, attendance characteristics and outcomes for patients presenting with Ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions.

Dr Lewis will be presenting part 2: " Winter Pressures: Understanding seasonal variation in demand for emergency care using regional routine data from EDs and acute hospital admissions.". This looks for differences in key performance markers and patient case mix in winter compared with non-winter months, and explores regional variation in seasonal demand.

Dr Jacques will be presenting the analysis methods used for these two projects. His talk, entitled "Exploring regional linked health data capability for research", will cover the novel approach used.

Dr Chalk, the HSMA Preogramme Lead, will be presenting about the Health Service Modelling Associates (HSMA) Programme. This is a free 15-month programme open to staff working in health, social care and policing anywhere in England. Dr Chalk will introduce the programme and talk about the impact it has had as well as directions for the future.
