About this Event
Welcome to the Health & Safety Technician Seminar at WAXIE San Diego! Join us for a comprehensive training session on how you can apply key safety principles specific to the attendees' work/industry situation to actively prevent work-related injuries and save lives. Learn essential safety principles tailored to the cleaning, maintenance, grounds, and restoration industries. This seminar is fun, enlightening, challenging, and rewarding. Come prepared to participate, think, and immediately apply what you learn positively when you return to work.
The OSHA 10-hour course covers General Industry occupational safety and health information (OSHA 29 CFR 1910) as it relates to cleaning, maintenance, grounds, and restoration industry employees. The course promotes the importance of hazard and risk assessment, the Global Harmonized System (GHS), administrative controls, work practices, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and the implementation of controls to prevent accidents, injuries, and toxic exposures that can impact employee health, wellness, and performance.
The OSHA Hierarchy of Hazard Control is emphasized to reduce reliance on the use of PPE and instead focus safety efforts on reducing or eliminating hazards through more effective means. To successfully complete the course and receive an OSHA 10-Hour card, each attendee must demonstrate that they possess the skills, knowledge, and awareness to recognize potential hazards and are committed to taking action to prevent accidents and exposures on the job that will save lives and reduce costs by preventing injuries.
