Reiki is a japanese healing technique that involves the practitioner being a clear conduit and channel of energy into the recipient through light touch or near-contact. The aim is to activate the natural healing processes of the body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
Reiki originated in Japan in the early 20th century. It was developed by Mikao Usui, who founded the system after a spiritual experience on Mount Kurama. Usui's teachings emphasize the use of Divine Life Force Energy as a tool for the body's innate nature to heal itself and be in balance.
