YWCA Greater Austin’s 5th Annual Mental Health Symposium invites clinicians, social workers, therapists, students, educators, social justice warriors and community members to join us in learning about the healing principles of Anger.
This year’s Mental Health Symposium will be hosted in-person at Assmenbly Hall (1121 East 7th Street | Austin Texas 78702). Learn more about the venue here.
Often anger is seen as one distinct thing, disconnected from other incidents and emotions. In reality anger is the energy ribbon that ties many of our emotions and experiences. Anger flows through us towards change, mobilization, and resolution. Anger is also often squelched, weaponized, and distorted based on race, gender, age, etc. and viewed intentionally to maintain the power structure. Join us to reconceptualize anger through a trauma-informed social justice lens, recognize its role in our healing, and have a transformative experience as we unwrap our gift of anger.

Throughout the symposium, attendees will be invited to participate in various discussions and activities; we recommend wearing comfortable clothing. Lunch will be provided. You're welcome to bring snacks, drinks, etc. to have throughout the day.
