About this Event

Workshop Description
This interactive session invites early childhood educators to come together for real conversations about racial literacy, systemic racism, and racial equity in early learning. We explore how history shapes our systems and how we can intentionally center healing, justice, and joy in our classrooms and communities. Through reflection and connection, we move beyond awareness into everyday action. Change in early learning begins when we show up, listen deeply, and grow together.

Learning Objectives
Participants will...

1) Name specific ways systemic racism shows up in early learning settings (through curriculum, hiring practices, family engagement, discipline practices, etc.).

2) Practice using at least one concrete tool for examining racial equity in daily work

3) Identify one transformation in individual and organizational practice that centers healing, justice, or joy for children and families of color.
