British cinema has played a vital role in shaping the global film industry since the late 19th century. The world’s oldest surviving film, Roundhay Garden Scene, was shot in England over 130 years ago — a small moment that sparked a lasting cinematic legacy. Fast forward to today, and British cinema continues to inspire with a rich resurgence of bold, original storytelling. For our Healesville Mini Film Festival, we’re thrilled to present three standout examples of the very best of British cinema:
