Hay-on-Wye lies on the Welsh side of the Welsh/English Border in the County of POWYS, Wales.The Black Mountains lie within the Brecon Beacons National Park and are composed of red sandstone. This gives the range its name, caused by a 'Trick of the light' which makes them appear black.
