The Hawley Spring Run is a 5K timed run/fun walk that was started by the Whitman Family in memory of their beloved son, brother, & friend, Tyler Whitman who died by suicide. After 10 years the Whitman family asked NAMI Northeast Region PA to take over hosting the event. NAMI has been holding this event since 2023, this year is the 14th Annual Hawley Spring Run. The goal of the HSR is to raise awareness about mental health and mental wellness and community resources in hopes of preventing any individual from feeling the hopelessness and helplessness that often accompanies thoughts of suicide. The event includes the run/walk, t-shirts, trophies, medals, music, basket raffles, refreshmants and mental wellness materials
