Join us as we celebrate cultural activist and American classicist, Vivian Ayers' 100th birthday with the republishing of her NASA recognized epic, Hawk (1957), showcasing never before seen book illustrations by world-renowned artist and educator, John T. Biggers.
Accompaning artists include Karon Davis, Sara Golish, Kathryn Garcia and Peyton E. Burnett.
Live poetry readings by Debbie Allen, Jesse Williams and Alexis Floyd.
Live performances by Cory Henry, Brandon O' Neal, Emily Carr, and Simone Bonet.
Opening reception begins at 11am. Exhibit on view through October.
Limited edition release of Hawk (1957), republished by Clemson University, will be available for purchase.
