Step inside a historic Catholic church and rectory built by immigrant hands along the Fox River in the late 1800s. When the lights go out, the building does not rest. Cold spots drift down the center aisle like unseen processions. Footsteps pace the pews after midnight. Incense lingers with no source.
In the choir loft, shadows move, benches settle, and organ keys depress on their own. Investigators have captured whispers, measured responses to prayer, and unexplained EMF spikes in the sacristy and confessionals. The bell tower echoes with solitary pacing as the rope sways without wind. Below, the stone basement answers with heavy knocks and wandering objects.
Across the threshold, the rectory grows colder. Chairs show fresh impressions. Files reopen to familiar pages. Footsteps, turning knobs, and full-bodied shadows move through the upper halls, while doors latch and unlatch on their own.
