About this Event
My name is Yash Hatkar, and Hattie is my story, told through a standup-comedy special. Comedy is how I cope and continue to heal, and it helps me equalize topics, remove taboos, and process what I've been through.
Why a standup? So many feel they can't open up because depression, anxiety, OCD, and thoughts of committing suicide are too shameful to talk about. Comedy helps us make things candid, and break that tension and shame. My friend Rohan said - the 5 stages of grief end with acceptance. Once we're ready to laugh at something, it means we've accepted it.
