We are collaborating with the team at the Whangarei Aquatic Centre to host our last big clean up for the year. (We are having a break over December until mid January.)Head down Ewing Road and spot us set up at the old Carpark in the park behind the centre. Starting at 10am.
We will be collecting all around the area based from the pools. This will include, Carpark, Roadside, Mangroves, Hatea River, etc. We may even have someone with a kayak to try to get in the waters edge of the mangroves.
Event in the water area will be dependant on tidal conditions.
We have reached out to other organisations and will update as they get back to us.
We will provide high vis vests, gloves, and collection gear to help pick things up and we will have a truck to be able to dispose of the waste we collect.
What to bring:
- Long sleeves may be benefitial while in any bushes to minimise scratches.
- Good shoes for unlevel surfaces.
- Great attitude
-Gumboots if you're interested in getting in the mud.
Parking: please park with consideration to other road users.
We will be separating as much as we can to recycle and salvage.
