About this Event

In this Harvest Heroes workshop, you will learn to assess key indicators of soil health, find balance between production and environmental conservation, see management strategies demonstrated on-site, and take-home tools for assessing and improving soil health anywhere, all while connecting with other military veterans.

The Harvest Heroes Program brings Military Veterans, their families and supporters together to learn hands-on how to grow, harvest and market urban agriculture products in real time by spending a season growing together on a community farm.

Who is a Harvest Hero?

Harvest Heroes are Military Veterans, spouses, family members & supporters working together to:

• Learn and practice urban agriculture on a community farm

• Feed their families and their community in need

• Develop small farm and food entrepreneurial skills & ideas

• Share the benefits of horticultural therapy with other veterans

This event is FREE.

No experience required, only an interest in growing food and connecting with other veterans to feed our community.
