luminatus vocal ensemble is a highly acclaimed group of professional singers. Recent reviews have described us as ‘spellbinding’ and a ‘choir of exceptional ability’. The ‘rich and full’ sound of the ensemble is derived from the quality of the singers, who are all established soloists, and work as ‘first amongst equals’, singing within the ensemble, or taking more extended solos as required. ‘Nothing less than a triumph’ Choir and Organ. The group perform an eclectic range of repertoire, using a period instrument orchestra where required. The focus in recent recordings has been newly discovered, or edited, Renaissance pieces, which are often set alongside contemporary compositions, especially by female composers. Many of these pieces are recorded for the first time.
Our new CD, to be released in April 2026, features a mass by Phillipe de Monte which utilises Ancor che col partire, the famous madrigal by Cipriano de Rore.
This concert draws on our eclectic tastes, bringing together a sequence of great music for voices, including sacred and secular music. Expect great music by Hildegard, Orlando di Lasso, Dowland, Weelkes, C.H.H Parry, Holst and Arvo Pärt! All sung superbly.
