Known as the “voice of Kenya,” Wangari Fahari is a Kenyan singer, writer, activist, and founder of the Fahari Brand. Mentored by Miriam Makeba and Joan Baez, Wangari learned at a young age the power of music.
She is best known for her modern African soundscapes, taking an unusual and innovative approach to her music. Her work features opportunities for continuous improvisation and fusion featuring musicians from different parts of the world.
Please note: Performances will now take place at the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center (inside the Park at 110th Street between Fifth and Lenox Avenue).
Entrance is FREE, and tickets are NOT required.
