About this Event
The proposition declares Cambridge nightlife dull and dead. The opposition, led by London’s Fetchish Studio, responds not in speeches but in basslines.
Expect a night of experimental electronics, heavy rhythms, and euphoria. At the centre, Athens-based BABYNYMPH takes the Union’s cellars, flooding them with her hyper-augmented, meticulously engineered “pornopop”. With a sound that screams hyper-femininity while twisting into an ironically exaggerated masculinity, her music moves between deconstructed club with complex sound design, Ibiza summer anthems, slutty pop, and SoundCloud rap.
On this night, the Cambridge Union is recasting the rituals of debate as performance, sound, and liberated expression. It is a debate with DJs, with its outcome determined on the dance floor.
The Union has long been a place of debate, but we argue in a different register at this Hardbass Debate.
